Why Work With Me

What you can expect:

I offer a grounded, relational, and genuinely human space: one where you can feel seen and supported in how you make sense of your world, at your own pace, and in your own way.

You might come to me if you're:

  • holding it together for everyone else and quietly running on empty
  • in a new phase (perimenopause, kids leaving home, divorce, new motherhood) and want to redesign what comes next
  • living with chronic illness or pain and want support with the parts of life it has overshadowed
  • a parent who doesn't want to repeat the dynamics you grew up with
  • a coach, therapist, carer or body worker who wants a practitioner who really gets the nuance

Somatic based Integrative Psychotherapy

What it's like to work with me

Maybe you've tried therapy before and it only got you so far. Or you've had the insight, from books, courses, even AI, but not the change. Here's what's different when we work together:

  • I talk back. I'm conversational and dynamic, not a silent therapist. We reflect, explore, feel and process together, including the uncertain, in-between bits.
  • We work with your body, not just your story. I combine talk therapy with somatic practice. How you think, feel and sense is connected to your sleep, digestion, posture, pain and inflammation, so we work with all of it.
  • Learn rather than loop. You already know the "why." Together we work on the "how": taking apart old, unconscious rules about who you can and can't be, and redesigning something that actually fits.
  • No quick fixes. I won't hand you a "do this and everything's fixed" plan. Real change can mean facing the fear of disappointing others, of loss, or of rejection, and we take that at a pace you can actually live with.
  • Every part of you is welcome. I work intersectionally. The contradictions, the history, the parts you'd rather hide all belong in the room, because integration is what lets us move through and past.
  • Your brain-body design, honoured. If you're neurodivergent or keep burning out, we'll find ways to pace and place yourself so you rest and thrive rather than crash.
  • From inner critic to inner cheerleader. We'll get to know the voice that sabotages your hopes, and grow one that feels more like a bestie.
  • Built for real lives and budgets. There's a free initial consultation and 25-minute sessions as a gentle way in. I hold low-income spaces each half-year, and my mini digital guides offer somatic practices and journal prompts at a lower price point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at therelationalspace@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Counselling is a unique yet profoundly simple relationship, built on respect, trust, non-judgement, confidentiality, collaboration and empathy. Together, these create a space that feels safe enough to speak freely, feel and express yourself without fear. For many people, the biggest surprise is how much it means to have someone who "gets" them: someone fully present, who doesn't need you to do anything or be anyone for them.

Insight is valuable, but it often isn't enough on its own. Somatic psychotherapy brings your body, breath, posture and sensations into the work, because they're part of your mental and emotional experience too. A knot in your chest or stomach, for example, can be the body holding something that hasn't yet been processed. In sessions, you'll learn practices that help you metabolise stress biologically as well as psychologically, and to listen to how your body communicates. This is where change happens: in how you relate and respond to yourself, others and situations, not just in understanding why.

I understand what it's like to have a brain that needs a different way of engaging and a nervous system that needs a bespoke way of being looked after. Alongside a supportive, collaborative relationship where I think and feel with you, I offer practical support, including body doubling for when the insight is there but acting on it still feels out of reach. Together we work with the shame, the conditioning of a neurotypical world and the nervous system dys-regulation that so often weave together, to create a way of living that works for you.

In sessions, eye contact is optional. You're welcome to move around, sit on a chair or the floor, or use the fidget toys, soft lighting, fan, heater and tactile furnishings.

Therapy is a commitment to yourself, and to the part of you that knows you're worth the time, space and care.

  • Free 15-minute Zoom consultation: we see whether it feels like a good fit.
  • 3 weekly sessions: a deeper assessment, a first taste of working together, and room for you to tell me what you'd like more or less of.
  • 10 weekly sessions: if it feels right, we commit to deeper work at the same day and time each week.

Therapy is collaborative from start to finish. That matters for reaching your goals, and the skills you build stay with you long after our time together.
